Is ghee for everyone? Ayurveda expert on who should avoid it

Ghee is gaining popularity as a desi superfood that everyone needs to include in their daily diet as it is a good source of healthy fats and works wonders for your heart health. Consuming ghee on an empty stomach is said to be even more beneficial as it can cleanse your digestive system and help with constipation. Ghee has many wonderful benefits. It has anti-aging and heart-healthy properties, is good for eye health, improves intellect and memory, aids digestion, improves vitality and is good for skin health. However, an Ayurveda expert says that ghee is not for everyone and has its own contraindications. (Also read: Ayurveda Tips: A Teaspoon of Ghee on an Empty Stomach Offers Many Health Benefits)

Ghee

Ayurveda doctor Dr. Rekha Radhamony says that although ghee is one of the healthiest foods according to Ayurveda, not all people should have it.

“Every food you eat needs to be tailored to your body constitution and imbalances. Always remember, just because something is 'healthy' doesn't mean it's right for you. It's high time we stopped going to grocery stores and buying everything we've seen or heard of as "healthy." One must understand what is appropriate for one's body constitution and imbalances and select foods accordingly. Ayurveda can help here. One person's medicine can be another's poison,” she writes in her most recent Instagram post.

According to Dr Radhamony ghee should be avoided as follows:

- Ghee is guru (difficult to digest). If you are someone with chronic indigestion and stomach issues like IBS-D etc. you don't have ghee.

- Ghee Increases Kapha: Avoid ghee for fevers, especially seasonal ones.

- Pregnant women should exercise double caution when consuming ghee. If you are overweight/obese during pregnancy, reduce ghee consumption.

- Ghee should be avoided in diseases of the liver and spleen such as liver cirrhosis, splenomegaly, hepatomegaly, hepatitis etc.

Blood Collection Market Status After Covid-19

Blood Collection Market - COVID-19 Impact

COVID-19 is a historic global public health issue that is expected to have a significant influence on the blood collection devices market. In general, hospital and independent laboratories evaluate each test to determine whether to recommend conversations with laboratory hematologists for tests with a higher risk profile or to refuse procedures that could not be performed safely. . During the 1st months of the pandemic, this had a detrimental influence on the market, reducing the use of blood collection tools.

Blood Collection Market Status After Covid-19

However, increased vigilance and testing volumes, along with the need for frequent health and body checks, will ensure the future growth of the market. Results take an average of 4 to 6 days for the general population, which is significantly longer than the previously required 2 to 3 days. This is because testing for symptomatic hospitalized patients and healthcare professionals takes priority and takes an average of one day, resulting in a delayed cycle. Although this has had some impact on the growth of the market, the situation is expected to improve in the future.
